During our time here in the pandemic I have had the expectation that maybe people had realized that since we haven't been in touch with the outside world as much as we had before, one of the obvious effects is that the air quality in parts of the Philippines have been better, I thought that people had seen that we were most likely the cause of terrible living circumstances in certain areas but the problem remains still as the quarantine bans are slowly lifted by each time.
One reason I think people have still kept the same mindset as before is because people lack the knowledge that pollution will really affect them, be it indirectly or directly. Why I think this way, many people have been throwing their used masks in improper places and continuing the growth of bad garbage disposal. I've seen many used masks in streets, parks, beaches or even the sea. There is far too much ignorance that has happened. I think it's only reasonable enough to think to ourselves, how many mask have I used this day, week or even month? And how much of those are properly disposed? The circumstance we live right now are far easier and due to less people, it's far to evident to see the trash and garbage lying around. Despite the pandemic, though hindered, pollution is still growing, and people seem to neglect the need to care for their own living environment
In Conclusion, though we are living in the pandemic which quarantine have been imposed, pollution seems to be growing still, though it's not all bad news, air quality and such have been better since there are less cars on streets but even as such, I think people should use this as their driving force to continue and lessen and work to be mindful of how they are treating the environment even to the smallest bit. I think everyone should not neglect and instead be aware of the dangers and think about the future.
